Start with the exact vehicle
Send the make, model and year, plus the version or trim if you know it. Body style, transmission and fuel type can help distinguish variants. Include approximate kilometres rather than guessing a precise reading you cannot check. Our model guides show useful details to send for many common cars, SUVs, utes and vans.
Describe the condition accurately
Explain whether it starts, runs, drives, rolls and steers. Mention known faults, body damage, rust and missing parts. These are different details: a car may start but be unable to move. You do not need to diagnose an unknown fault; tell us what you observed and avoid attempting unsafe tests.
Use photos to explain the enquiry
Useful photos show the whole car from more than one angle and the damage or missing parts you have described. Access photos are helpful if the vehicle is in a tight or awkward position. Keep unrelated personal documents and possessions out of the images. If you do not have photos, call and discuss the details with the team.
Completeness and collection matter
Tell us about equipment you intend to keep and parts already removed. Include the pickup location, keys and any wheel or steering issue. A quote based on a complete car with straightforward access cannot automatically be applied to a stripped vehicle in a restricted space. Changes after the enquiry should be discussed before pickup.
